KILLER HIP HOP / FUNK ALBUM FROM LOCAL OUTFIT
1ST RELEASE ON INERTIA FROM OZ LABEL FRESH JAMS!
Inertia is proud to present the first album release from local label FRESH JAMS, co-run by WILL STYLES of FUNKTRUST - the duo behind THE GROOVE TRAIN, the weekly groove / funk / dance show on TRIPLE J every Friday night at 10PM. Funktrust also DJ all across the nation.
Got a musical itch you haven't been able to scratch? Let GOOD BUDDHA's new album ‘Hit the Sky Running' remedy that! With their unique blend of big band funk, infectious grooves and rule bending raps, ‘Hit the Sky Running' is the match that will spark your next party on fire.
Earning their stripes on the Australian festival circuit, Good Buddha have played BIG DAY OUT, GOOD VIBRATIONS, SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS, WOODFORD FOLK FESTIVAL and the APOLLO BAY MUSIC FESTIVAL. The Buddha's popularity has been further cemented by supporting some of the biggest names in international hip hop, such legends as PUBLIC ENEMY, UGLY DUCKLING, PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, LYRICS BORN and PHARCYDE.
Locked away in the studio for most of 2007, Good Buddha have gone about capturing a decades worth of experience and paying tribute to their musical heroes. A group of music lovers first and foremost, ‘Hit the Sky Running' tips its cap to classic hip hop production, funk riffs, African rhythm, reggae groove, soul melody and psychedelic song structure. What ensues is an album that encapsulates their divergent musical backgrounds, but stays true to their live performance roots.
The first single dropped off the album "Movin On" has smashed through the speakers with its off beat, honky tonk piano and party lyrics and has been burning up both local and national radio, with TRIPLE J picking it up for heavy rotation.
For fans of: RESIN DOGS, OZOMATLI, THE HERD, WATUSSI and quality local hip hop & funk.
