Rummaging through the bones of such bands as The Scientists, the Gun Club, the Birthday Party and Spaceman 3, Melbourne four piece Witch Hats have built a solid fan base around Australia with constant touring.
Their live show has always been explosive. Now it’s backed up with an album that fulfills all their promise – and more. Witch Hats released its debut EP, ‘Wound from a Little Horse’, in 2006 on In-Fidelity Recordings. Quickly gathering local and national notoriety for its fuzz and swamp infested live attack. Witch Hats returned to the studio in 2007 with Ben Ling and Boys Next Door/Birthday Party drummer Phill Calvert.
The result is ‘Cellulite Soul’ – an album brimming with catchy tunes wrapped in sonic anarchy. A single, “Before I Weigh”, is already at radio.
