The album’s conception began with the idea to record an acoustic version of the Derrick May classic “Strings of Life” to warm up for the production of his first solo album. Thought of as a “one-off” novelty, it sat on the studio shelf for a long time until ALEX BARCK of the JAZZANOVA crew came by, listened and realised it was a gem. DJs and music fans from all sides of the spectrum got into this track and gave it acclaim, with Derrick May also giving Prommer his thumbs up.
Feeling at home in the world between Jazz and Detroit Techno Prommer decided to do an album project that blended the two genres. The resulting album reinterprets the dance classics in a jazzy fashion.
