SHACKLETON has become in a very short period of time the toast of the dub step scene. “Next To Nothing” is another of his classic bleak sound-scapes. Middle eastern percussion and buzzing bass give this track his typical ominous feeling. The remixes show how the best of dubstep is crossing over to other scenes. The mix by GUILLAUME & THE COTU DUMONTS (from the MUTEK label) is a peak time tribal monster. EXERCISE ONE (MOBILEE) strip it back further but the track propels along with a hypnotic acid pulse.
