Following on from the acclaimed & successful ‘Crosstown Rebels Vol.1’ mix by DAMIAN LAZARUS from last year, this benchmark setting label drops a sublime “at home” mix set from hotly tipped UK producer, JAMIE JONES.
Jones’ own tracks have been appearing on some of the best mix CDs of the last 12 months including TIEFSCHWARZ’s FABRIC mix, STEVE BUG’s ‘Bugnology 2’, SVEN VATH’s ‘Sound Of The 7Th Season’ & STEVE LAWLER’s ‘Viva’. His tracks have been released on top labels like POKERFLAT, FREAK N’ CHIC and of course Crosstown Rebels.
This is a deep and at times quite minimal set, but it oozes much more soul than anyone would expect – true electronic soul music. The track by Chicago producer (and acknowledged inventor of deep house) LARRY HEARD “Sun Can’t Compare” is worth the price of admission alone.
If anyone wanted an entry point to “minimal”, or just a great chilled house set to groove to at home – this is the one!
