Melbourne's LOVE OF DIAGRAMS have been making their mark on the Australian music scene since 2003, with two frenetic, angular EPs, a 7" and an album on the UNSTABLE APE label.
Now after two trips to the US and Europe (including combustible performances at SXSW last March), they have signed a worldwide deal with MATADOR (the home of CAT POWER and INTERPOL). This is the first time a local act has signed with this celebrated label !
The band's sound reflects the experimentation of No Wave and the immediacy and off-kilter tunefulness of classic UK post-punk. Their stripped-down guitar-bass-drums racket and call-and-response vocals emit a wonderfully controlled urgency.
Radio playlist additions have been flooding in with strong airplay already via triple J and all major indie/community stations around the country.
'Mosaic', was recorded in Chicago at STEVE ALBINI's Electrical Audio Studios with legendary producer BOB WESTON (SHELLAC, MISSION OF BURMA).
National tour in April plus a second national tour winter 2007.
The band are beginning to break out overseas where In addition to their previously announced 9-date headlining jaunt beginning at the end of this Feb, they have just been confirmed as main support for TED LEO AND THE PHARMACISTS throughout the entire US this spring.
VICE "All we need now is for them to grind with DFA and we'd have our sixth major religion. It is that good." ... PITCHFORK "The prickly guitar lines feel their way down dark hallways, stumbling over furniture and tripping over floorboards."
