On September 18th 2002 DJ KENTARO won his first DMC World Champion title with the first perfect score ever in DMC world history. Dedicating his winning 6 minute set to his "no walls between the music" consciousness, it was pure innovation - using not just hip hop, but also reggae, drum & bass, house and electro. He brings this philosophy to life in a different way on his debut artist album, ‘Enter’ released by the mighty NINJA TUNE label.
Kentaro gave us all some idea of his skills with his 2005 mix CD/DVD ‘On The Wheels Of Solid Steel’ (ZENCD109). But we little did we know the full extent of this man’s talents! Never before has an album blended so many genres with turntablism that is less about showing off but more about being an integral part of a great tune.
Features guest turns from THE PHARCYDE, FAT JON, NEW FLESH, LITTLE TEMPO, HIFANA and all the members of SPANK ROCK.
‘Enter’ runs from the funk of "Free" to the dubby downtempo soul of "Tasogare Highway", through the drum and bass attack of "Rainy Day," the live reggae feel of "Handmade Gift," the squelching dance aesthetic of "Space Jungle," on into the tribal space-jazz of "Harvest Dance," the epic turntable cut-up of "One Hand Blizzard" and the cosmic hip hop of "Let It Go".
