SOUNDTRACK
The soundtrack to new Australian indie flick, Suburban Mayhem, features a line up of blistering rock acts, including new vocal performances by MAGIC DIRT's ADALITA and a score composed and produced by aussie legend, MICK HARVEY (THE BAD SEEDS)
The film has been nominated for a stunning six IF Awards, including "Best Music". It was also an official selection Un Certain Regard for this year's CANNES FILM FESTIVAL, and closed the MELBOURNE INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL.
The story is based on the true-life events involving a well-known Australian murder case.
The film's theme is the thunderous "Double Dare". The HOYT AXTON classic is revamped, fully juiced up, slashed and burnt by Magic Dirt's Adalita in a scorching vocal tour de force.
The accompanying video clip is currently on the tube and causing a ruckus. Adalita also performs on a second solo track, her cover of "Sex Beat", which has a suitably punky angst.
Both tracks are produced by Mick Harvey (Nick Cave's right hand man, arranger and long-time member of The Bad Seeds) and feature a stellar line-up of Australian musicians: SPENCER P. JONES, ROLAND S. HOWARD, MICK HARVEY, DEAN TURNER and PETER JONES.
The soundtrack also includes tracks from LITTLE BIRDY, SPAZZYS, YOUR WEDDING NIGHT, BIRD BLOBS, THEREDSUNBAND, SUZI QUATRO and BILLY CHILDISH.
